First Semester Report

September 15th to December 15th, 2024

During the inaugural semester of the Mehre Persian School, a vibrant community of twenty students, aged 6 to 13, embarked on a linguistic journey. Divided into two levels – Beginner and Intermediate – these young learners immersed themselves in the world of Persian.

Beginner students laid a strong foundation by familiarizing themselves with the most commonly used Persian letters. They delved into word formation, explored the nuances of Persian writing, and mastered the art of vocalizing letters using diacritics.

Concurrently, Intermediate students honed their reading and writing skills while expanding their vocabulary.

Beyond traditional textbook learning, we enriched the curriculum with a variety of engaging activities. Family museum visits provided students with opportunities to apply their language skills in real-world settings. To celebrate the cultural significance of Yalda Night, a traditional Persian festival, students participated in a hands-on workshop exploring block printing, a time-honored Iranian art form. This activity enabled them to creatively express their understanding of Yalda. To maintain enthusiasm and prevent monotony, short periods of free play were incorporated into each session.

By combining structured learning with interactive activities, we aimed to create a stimulating environment that fostered a love of the Persian language.
